Management Challenges:
We’re Cleaning, Inc. performed window and curtain wall washing on behalf of the City of Chicago’s department of Aviation at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. We provided this service at United Airlines’ Terminal One. The window and curtain wall consist of the exterior of the entire building. Between 1992 and 1995 WCI cleaned the windows and curtain wall of Concourses B & C. This service had to be provided once per year and, as a result of weather and security concerns, had to be completed within very stringent time and schedule constraints. In each of the three years of this contract, WCI completed the assignment within two months utilizing the services of twenty men (20); their activities were managed by two supervisors and for certain phases of the assignment we ran two shifts. Special equipment included hydraulic lifts, scaffolding and high-pressure washers.
